The Black Thorne Pipe Band formed in 2018 from members of several South Florida Pipe Bands. The goal of the band is to play good music, not just the standard Pipe Band tunes. We play pipe music with a modern style. We also play some of the classics, but add our own, distinct twist. We have a musical style that sets us apart from the competition.
A unique feature of the band is that each member wears a kilt that has a personal meaning. Some are for family names, others for military or law enforcement service, and some are for a place or heritage. It is just one more way that we stand out from the competition.
